Expertise & Hôtellerie is an independent consultancy. Its founder sits on Togo’s national commission for the licensing and classification of tourism establishments, the CNACET. Seven commitments keep the two roles apart; they are appended to every contract.

Our seven commitments
- Expertise & Hôtellerie never carries out an official assessment and never promises that a classification will be obtained. Its reports are indicative and do not bind the commission.
- No information obtained through the work of the CNACET is ever used for business development or consultancy. The firm’s files and the commission’s files are kept separate.
- The founder recuses himself whenever the CNACET examines a client property, past or present. The recusal is recorded in the minutes, and the client is informed in writing before signing.
- No property examined by the commission in the past two years is accepted as a client, except for a separate new-build project.
- A declaration of interests is lodged with the supervising ministry and the competent authority from the day the firm is set up, and updated whenever anything changes.
- The firm does not pass its reports to the CNACET, and clients undertake not to present them to the commission as coming from one of its members.
- No gift, invitation or other benefit is accepted from a property that has been, or may be, examined. A register is kept.
These commitments are checked once a year by an independent third party, a lawyer or a chartered accountant, whose certificate is published on this page.
When we turn down an engagement
A request that comes from the commission, or that concerns a property it has examined in the past two years, is declined; we then point to the official route or to other providers. Our own software enforces the same rule: it blocks the creation of an engagement in that case.
